[Updated Review]: After a day or two playing this device, I managed to get it to work. I would bump the rating to 3. There are two details I noticed:(1) The cable. One of the lightening cables I used was not stable. That caused the disconnect. Replacing the cable made a big difference.(2) The size of the SD card. It looks like the device was less stable when the micro SD is 75% full (guestimate, didn't do further analysis. Switched to a much bigger micro SD card and I was able to download all the photos (the photos were about 200G bytes)During one of the disconnects (in the middle of the backup), the SD card was corrupted (no longer accessible by windows). I had to do format the card. So be aware of that.[Original Review]Initial test was good: easy to set up, and start to back up photos from my iphone (iphone 13). From the Qubii Pro app, I saw the files being copied to the MicroSD card. Half way through the transfer (1300 out of 2500 photos), the app reported Qubii Pro disconnected (however the phone is still being charged). I tried different ways to reconnect the device (plug/unplug, restart Qubiii Pro app). I was able to restart the backup process but didn't last long.. it keeps disconnecting from iphone.Interestingly, as I was watching the screen, I could see it would reconnect itself and then disconnect again.Given it does not run reliably, I will return the device.Slowly but surely copies pictures from my phone to the sd card. It stops after a few hundred pics, and you have to start again. Allows me to delete hundreds of pictures to free up my phone’s memory without paying for cloud storage.The consumer should know that item only works with the “right” SD card. I purchased 1 & 2 TB SD cards (that perfectly function on all other devices) and both Qubii Duo & Qubii Pro failed to accept these cards to initiate a backup of iPhone.The error succinctly stated “improper sd card”, continue at your own risk as data may be corrupted. So, pressing the continue selection, the Qubii’s NEVER allows one to “continue”, although it stated you could.Replacements were requested and delivered, as I thought surely this must be a device error. To no avail, the same occurrence, and once again accepting “continue at own risk”, neither Qubii would backup iPhone.Thinking this might be the case, I ordered an SD card made by Sandisk (forfeiting the savings of a more affordable sd card).Voila the backup initiated and we are in backup mode. Case and point, Qubii needs to state WHICH SD CARDS ARE COMPATIBLE and Amazon should make some sort of notation indicating “item is not compatible with all SD cards”.GaryThe Qubii is very easy to use, it works as advertised, the reason why I am giving 4 stars is because it’s not possible to select what items to backed up, you have only two options is either, to backup all your folders( if you have created them ) or a complete backup of all your photos, but you cannot select what folders are transferred to the Qubii, I wish you could specifically select what photos or albums To be back up. I use a lot my mobile to take images or videos for specific projects that I am working on, the problem is that you are forced to remove your photographs from your mobile, because every time that you connect your mobile, the app search for new photos to back them up, but if you transferred the saved photos to a hard disk drive or to a computer to clean up the memory card, or if you insert a new one, whenever you connect the phone it backs everything up again!!!!, because for the app, all the photos are new, as they are not in the memory card anymore. The only way to go around is deleting them from your phone, in my case there are many photos of people or places that I love, that I don’t want to erase from my phone!! And the photos or projects that I need to transfer to my computer to work with them, I can’t back them up because the memory on my phone is larger than the memory card. so, the memory card gets full before the photos that I really need can be transferred.So I was a little skeptical about buying this after reading the reviews, but I went ahead and gave it a shot. So far so good! The Qubii Block was very easy to use, (Requires an app download, but was user friendly. There are YouTube videos out there if you need it) plugged it in and after completing a short setup, it automatically saved everything to my mini SD card. Some people complained in previous reviews about how the device wouldn’t transfer after going dark/in sleep mode, but it was an easy fix. Just be sure to change your iPhone auto-lock in settings to “off” so that it doesn’t go dark while transferring. The one downside is that it doesn’t really explain this in the instructions. Side note, I also like that I can take the micro SD card out and easily put everything on the computer. Overall I am satisfied, and will update if problems arise.Is easy to use and it doesn’t take much room can put away anywhere.The Qubii is great! It automatically backs up all new photos and videos every night when I charge my phone. I no longer have to worry about losing everything if something happens to my phone and I can free up phone memory for new photos, knowing I can easily access the old pictures. I honestly don’t think it could be any better.This is a great product the first back up takes a while especially if your phone has a lot on it but it is quite convenient to plug your phone up at night for a charge and wake up the next morning with it completely backed up. I selected three stars for storage because once you receive the cube you have to purchase a micro SD card of sufficient size to complete your back up no storage comes with the cube.Ich hatte schon länger nach einer einfachen Möglichkeit gesucht, unabhängig vom Computer, die Fotos vom iPhone zu sichern. Ich habe es aber nach vielen vergeblichen Versuchen aufgegeben.Dann habe ich durch Zufall den Qubii Pro hier in Angebot gesehen. Bis auf diesen Farbton sah erst mal alles gut aus. Nach etwas Suchen im Web, gefiel mir Qubii immer besser.Gleich eine große SD Karte mit bestellt, und dann wenige Tage später den ersten Sicherungslauf gestartet. Wenn man mal davon absieht, das 17.000 Bilder zu sichern schon eine ganze Weile dauert, hat das problemlos funktioniert. Auch das Mobiltelefon meiner Frau habe ich direkt gesichert. Aber die hatte auch nicht deutlich weniger Bilder ?In der Doku steht das nich so klar verständlich, dass man quasi unbegrenzt viele Mobiltelefone sichern kann. Für jedes Telefon wird ein eigenes Verzeichnis auf der SD Karte angelegt. So kommen sich die Daten nicht in die Quere.Über die App hat man dann Zugriff auf die Bilddaten aller Mobiltelefone.Zu erwähnen ist vielleicht noch, das Qubii auch Kontakte sichern möchte - das kann man aber ablehnen. Mir war nicht klar, ob nicht diese Kontakte anders verwendet werden könnten.Was wirklich schlecht dokumentiert ist, sind die Unterschiede der verschiedenen Qubii Varianten. Das ist mit tatsächlich bis heute nicht komplett klar.Das Gerät ist in Verbindung mit der App wirklich extrem leicht zu bedienen. Einzige Voraussetzung ist, dass das genutzte USB Kabel nicht zu lang ist. Das ist mir bei einem weitern Sicherungsversuch passiert. Es bricht bei zu langen (2m) USB Kabeln ständig die Verbindung zum Qubii ab. Ein normales 60 cm Kabel geht aber super gut.Tiny (2cm square) cube, very easy to use, app is flawless, and it's backed up all our photos on three iPhones with zero drama. Just what I was after to keep everything in a safe as well as a cloud.Super Lösung, um mit dem Aufladen des iPhones (hier 12 PRO MAX) gleichzeitig und automatisch die Fotos, Videos, Kontakte auf dem iPhone auf eine Mikro-SD zu sichern. Das funktioniert insbesondere inkrementell, d.h. nach einer (Lade-)Unterbrechung wird beim nächsten Aufladen automatisch an der Unterbrechungsstelle das Sichern wieder fortgesetzt. So ist es möglich, das Sichern auf mehrere Ladezyklen zu verteilen, was bei großen Bildmengen (bei mir 250GB) auch unerlässlich ist!Fotos und Videos zur Weiterverarbeitung und Archivierung aus einem Iphone zu holen ist alleine schon ein Krampf, den Überblick zu behalten, was man schon archiviert hat und was neu ist, immer ein Problem.Das Qubii ist eine excellent durchdachte Lösung, Das Backup geschieht automatisch beim Laden, wird also nicht vergessen ;-), der Qubii verhält sich wie ein usb-Stick kann jederzeit zur Übertragung von Bildern in beliebige andere Geräte eingesteckt werden. Große Speicherkarten sind billig (200gb ab 25 €), die icloud ohne Bildmedien kann klein bleiben und reicht dann für Backups wichtiger Sachen. Iphone mit kleinem Speicher sind kein Problem mehr, sie können jederzeit nach dem Backup leereräumt werden.Und die Backups sind sehr schnell, in der Regel in Sekunden und es ist kein Netzanbindung notwendig.Der Stick hängt sich permanent beim Download der Bilder vom angeschlossenen iPhone auf.Dabei ist es egal, welches iPhone (i7, i8, i11, i11ProMax) angeschlossen ist.Da sich der stehengebliebene Download auch nicht abbrechen/ beenden lässt, ist der Speicherzustand undefiniert.Die angebotene Cloud-Synchronisation funktioniert überhaupt nicht.Leider kann man nicht 0 Sterne vergeben.
