My partner and I went back and forth many times before "rolling the dice" and ordering this bed. If you read the reviews, they're very mixed, and if you dig deeper - the same bed, by the same manufacturer, is sold by multiple on-line retailers under different names - you'll find the same story. Many like it, but those who don't are adamant about poor construction, missing parts, damaged shipments, and months of waiting for resolution - unpacking and repacking for return several times.I was almost deterred from the purchase, until I went looking for more "high quality" bedroom furniture, It was hard to justify paying 3-5 times more for a simple bed frame.Shopping for price, we found that Amazon Prime beat every other retailer on the same bed, and had a return policy that we trusted. Shipping was included, and although we were told it would be 5-7 days for delivery, it arrived in two days - as Prime usually does. There were 3 fairly large boxes.With the nightmare reviews in mind, I was very careful to unpack each of the 3 boxes, taking photos of how each was packed so that I could repack in the same fashion if needed. I then carefully unwrapped the components, lay them out on the floor, and photographed them as well, before reading the assembly instructions, and making sure that all pieces were intact. I was relieved to find that everything had been well packed and that nothing was missing. Others have commented on this, but it bears repeating - the manufacturer includes extra pieces - screws, allen wrenches, dowls, in case one gets broken, lost, or stripped.Some negative comments have complained that the instructions are difficult or inaccurate, I did not find this to be true - but I studied the diagrams and made sure to read the instructions completely BEFORE I began.The instructions state that assembly requires only a Philip's head screw driver. It's doable, but if you have a drill -driver and a rubber mallet (for pounding some pieces into place without denting) it's a little bit easier.The end result is - after about 3 hours, including careful unpacking - I had a solid, good looking bed for a fraction of what I'd have paid elsewhere.If there were problems in the past, they seem to have been resolved. I'd recommend this product to anyone.
