I bought this light as a light for me to carry around for every day use. I have been trying to find a flashlight that lasts for more than a year and I have only had it for 2 months and so I am not sure whether I like it in that aspect or not yet but this I do know.It is a very powerful light, I was able to see animals about 200 yards away with it. I took it on a backpacking hike(which I do not suggest due to the weight and size,) and it was brighter than my companion's headlamp. I then was trying to read in my bag and found that even on the lowest mode the light was too intense for that. Also I found that the battery life was a lot shorter than I would want for a flashlight on that hike, but working around the house, shop, garage, etc., when you can plug it into a charger at night would be fine.Overall I think that it is a good light and am glad I got it, though it still hasn't passed the one year mark.
