i have 6 working chainsaws and this is the one i always grab first...quiet, lite weight, no smelly fumes and the small battery last long enough to cut a 9in x 10ft cherry into 15in logs. its my ride along on atv, great for clearing trails of downed trees, pruning shooting lanes for deer and downing some firewood and ive cut down some big ones too. batteries are pricey but recommend getting the larger capacity battery. 4yr warranty and if chain pops off, its an easy hand twist of the nut to disassemble. one thing to remember... don't horse it!! the electric motor will fail. hence, the great 4yr warranty. if you live more than 30 miles from service center, they send you a new unit, less battery. im on my 2nd unit and its over 4yrs without a hitch once i learned to be more gentle...I used the saw for some minor trimming work around the house, cutting limbs up to 12” around by 20’ long. I purchased two extra batteries to extend working time. My main reason for purchasing this is for ATV trail cutting. It fits in my rear rack storage unit with the extra batteries. I cleared about 900 feet of trails in two hours with it. I grabbed a fourth battery from our Greenworks weed trimmer and was on the fourth battery when I finished. Trees were saplings to 8-10” size. The saw cut easily and was enjoyable to work with. While definitely not a gas powered tree eater I enjoyed the quiet operation. I would definitely recommend this saw while stating that it has an intended purpose for smaller jobs. I would also recommend getting extra batteries if you plan on using it as I did for extended periods of time. The price can’t be beat as I feel I’ve already got my money’s worth!I ordered this to trim tree branches off of bigger branches or trees to prep for my gas powered saw. Works well and I did cut a couple 4 inch trees to see. It did well. I also dug around a few small rooted trees to cut below the ground to cover and it worked well for that. I would recommend this for an addition to a bigger saw. But also for those quick smaller jobs were getting the gas powered saw out is time consuming. I am not sure about the battery yet, I have not tested the durability on time yet. But so far it works the way I had hoped. Which is for smaller branch prep or removal of small trees where I do not want to get out the gas powered saw.I upgraded my hedge trimmer, pole saw, and chain saw because they no longer manufactured a 29722 replacement battery: I looked specifically for these items with the new Greenworks 24v USB 2 amp battery which the chain saw claimed to have. But upon receiving it is was just a regular 24v Greenworks 2amp battery with no USB port. So I ended up purchasing a 24v USB 5amp Greenworks battery to use in it rather than returning it and buying a much more expensive 24v 4amp combination chain saw package which allowed me to keep the two amp battery. They are great tools but be warned that this unit doesn't come with a USB port as advertised. This battery powered chainsaw seems to have plenty of power and battery life for me, it's just irritating to open the box and be all ready to go trim some tree limbs only to discover they don't supply you with a small amount of chainsaw oil to get started. Sooo I had to trudge on down to my local hardware store to buy some.On the good side I do love all the greenworks products. I have a lawn mower and a trimmer and they both work outstanding (although every single thing I buy has a totally different sized batteries). I plan to keep adding to my collection.Super happy with this. Bought as a gift for my father, but I ended up using it. Easy to use and lightweight. The lightweight nature can give you a little more recoil than usual, so be prepared for that. The manual gives great info for those that have never used a chainsaw before. I encourage reading through the whole thing. It worked like a dream cutting up large branches. Lots of cuts for a good solid hour. Make sure you have oil for the chain because it does not come with any.I only said I was a woman because that is an important part of this review. I needed a chain saw but they are so heavy and most of the ads show big burly dudes slicing through a tree with a 20 inch chainsaw. I needed just a small chainsaw to take care of some out of control bushes in my yard. I am so excited about this chainsaw. It was not heavy at all and it cut right through all my problem bushes. One of my guy friends even said he wants to buy this one because he considers himself a lightweight as far as equipment goes. The battery charged right up and I was able to do everything I wanted to do without recharging it. I am so glad I bought this chainsaw. It's my favorite purchase of the season!Would be five stars if the bar oil didn't leak. Used it to clear fallen branches and under brush at my hunting property. Left it in my Jeep for 2 weeks and all the bar oil leaked out. After I put more bar oil in it, it still had enough battery to cut down dead trees on the trail.
