So I ordered a pair of these based on 2 factors. First I went into a local store and tried them on. They felt great when I first put them on. Based on that, I ordered a pair on Amazon based on the reviews. When they first arrived, I put them on and right off the bat, the left shoe popped everytime I took a step. After about 15 minutes of wearing them, the bottom of both feet were killing me. Based on that, I promptly sent the boots back to Amazon. Kudos for Amazon for taking the shoes back and refunding my purchase within the day I sent them back. I just cant give these boots a good review based on my experience. I really wanted to like them as they are great looking. My review is getting 3 stars just based on the looks as after wearing them a few minutes, the feel would get 1 star.I did read most reviews, and watched the videos on "You Tube" before buying, received on time, the best shoe, great fit, I'm on my feet all day very true to fit, I do have a narrow foot the only thing, that has ever felt as good on my feet were a $350.00 pair of Justans western boots, the minute I put them on I did not want to take them off, I just paid the sales person. I felt like I was walking on clouds. Look's great on my feet, I did put a pair of Dr. Scholl's Massaging Gel work insoles in, to help out Like I stated I'm on my feet all day, I even walk too work about five or six blocks the frist day I wore themran all the way to the time clock last two or three hundred yards with my back pack on. I have a Condor Threeday assualt Back pack. just checking it out. I plan to do some Mountain climbing, and trail running, this why purchase them. If I could give them more than a five star rating they would get a "10"If I could, I would buy them for a Friend! What can I say! Fitted like a glove from the get go. Lived up to all the hype, video's, reviews and promotions. Lighter than traditional heavy weather hikers and does all the same work. I have used these in recent treks under 5kg to 18kg back packs, in tropical conditions. No snow/ice or any of that rubbish! I still retain a range of traditional heavy duty boots but I purchased these new Salomons specifically for an upcoming trek in PNG. I already own and adore my Saloman 3D XPRO ULTRA trail runners and was looking for an extension of those for hiking. Bingo! Wings Sky GTX is the bi product of the trail shoe. A natural extension really, when you think of it. With these new shoes I can hike and run when or where I need to. A firm/snug fit, light, comfort, excellent track grip and cushioned as well. What's not to like? To quote my mate Molly "Do yourself a favour" and get into these fantastic boots.Love the boots. Spent 14 days on an elk hunt in the bighorns. Purchased these because i wanted to try a lightweight boot compared to my all leather lowa boots. They are PERFECT for lightweight day pack or overnight loads. I think anything over a 30 pound pack is a bit much for these shoes because of the sole support. They were purchelased by me knowing that an 18 oz. (Pair) boot isn't for heavy loads. Love them and they will not last for as long as other boots because of the materials. This to me is common sense. They feel like a running shoes with ankle support. If you plan to use for rocky terrain you may consider to go with a stronger sole/support. An excellent boot for my purpose of moving many miles in a day with a light load. Light load is bare essentials of food pack sleeping bag rain gear and first aid. Highly reccomend the boots.I purchased these boots after doing alot a research on a nice pair of lightweight yet comfy & durable hiking boots. These boots fit the bill, I was worried about them looking like a guawdy pair of basket ball boots. But rest easy in the flesh they are easy on the eye and SO comfortable. So far I have taken them on several day hikes, and a couple of week long trips (15-20kg load avg), on varied gravel/rock/muddy trails in the spring and summer. They have perfomed great and held up well. I will update the review when I take them hiking in Japan during the hot humid times OR the winter sleet ect weather that we dont get here in Perth.Basicly if you buy these boots you will be happy with your purchase, so will your feet and knees :)I purchased these boots a couple of months ago, and have only wore them enough to get them broke in. Have yet to get to go hiking in them, but being the child i can be, i have made sure that they are waterproof...yes, they are. Very comfortable as far as i know. Cant wait to get out into nature with them! On a side note, they are a narrow boot. Other than that, i have no issues as of yet. Oh, and they are a GREAT LOOKING boot!I ordered these after our teams (Special Forces) Air Force Combat Controller recommended Salomon boots as the only ones he would buy again. He was right about these. Light as sneakers, good grip on the rocky terrain here and great everyday hiking boots. Broke in in one day too. Missed the fact that the silver accents are reflective, which is not a good thing if I am outside "The wire" over here but for all the other running around, great. I run in these on rough terrain and the ankle support and light weight make a difference over my (love em') Asolo 95's. Have not had them out in the wet yet but we shall see. Three weeks of almost everyday wear and they are good to go. All said, a five for comfort, weight, looks.got these for a 1000km hike in spain next april. so far so good. good ankle support, light, good toe room, last suits my foot very well. only have about 40 mles on them so far and they are excellent. price was very good as well. my 3rd pair of salomon. never been disappointed. We bought these for my son for the hiking he had to do as part of his Duke of Edinburgh award and it's sometimes hard to get him out of them. He says they're very comfortable and waterproof and that he didn't have any problems with grip, despite heavy rain.
