The REOTEMP A36FR-D43 Super Duty Compost Thermometer with Fast Response Tip is the best of both worlds. It's stronger and has a 20% faster response time than our Heavy Duty Compost Thermometer. It's a good choice if you are looking to speed up the temperature collection process. Like our Heavy Duty Compost Thermometer (A36PF-D43), its durable all stainless steel design is perfect for an industrial composting facility. It is well suited to larger compost piles where customers require a durable probe and also a fast response time. This model is dual scale 0 to 200°F & -10 to 90°C with a 3/8" stem and 1/4" tip for fast response. It features a large 3" hermetically seal dial that won't fog up. The A36FR-D43 comes with a 1 Year Limited Warranty and is made in the USA. This model is compatible with the REOTEMP FM-0 Probe Guard for added protection of the dial.

We have always purchased ReoTemp thermometers for our compost program. Quality product, reasonable price and last for several years in the right hands. Unfortunately we purchased this thermometer this month and it arrived with the stem separated from the head and the needle rattling around inside the dial. The box was beat up and there was no packing inside, just a small cardboard box covering the head. Returned it and got another one...this time the box was in better shape, little cardboard box was on the head and the stem was still attached but the needle was off the dial again. Returned the second one today and intend to purchase the Heavy Duty model instead of the Super. They definitely have issues with packaging them properly, perhaps they also have an issue with the Super model.
